Colourful Die-Cut Background Celebration Card

Step by step

1. Cut a piece of black card measuring 4½ by 6½ inches. ▶ watch 27:15
2. Position the Sweet Sprinkles die on the black card, ensuring it is within the die area. ▶ watch 27:45
3. Run the card and die through the cutting machine using the appropriate plates. ▶ watch 28:00
4. Place a vibrant coloured paper behind the die-cut to make the sprinkle design pop through. ▶ watch 28:45
5. Glue the die-cut panel onto a white card blank, securing it with glue around the edges. ▶ watch 29:00
6. Punch several 1-inch circles from various coloured papers using the circle punch. ▶ watch 30:45
7. Stamp three different alien character designs onto the coloured circles using black ink. ▶ watch 31:00
8. Stamp the congratulations sentiment onto white card using black ink. ▶ watch 34:00
9. Mount the congratulations sentiment onto black card and trim around it to create a border. ▶ watch 35:30
10. Glue the sentiment panel onto a piece of coloured paper that coordinates with the circles. ▶ watch 36:00
11. Attach foam pads to the back of the sentiment panel to add height and dimension. ▶ watch 37:00
12. Position the sentiment panel on the card and scatter the alien circles around it at different angles using foam pads. ▶ watch 38:15

Tips from the show

• The coloured paper showing through the die-cut creates an effective background without needing additional stamping.
• Foam pads give the card extra dimension and make the elements stand out from the background.
• You can create the same card design with different orientations for a fresh look.
