Spray Ink Embossing Folder Technique

Apply spray ink to an embossing folder and press cardstock into it to create a soft, misted texture effect. This technique produces a delicate, atmospheric finish with colour that settles into the recessed areas.

Step by step

1. Prepare your embossing folder and select a spray ink colour such as morning mist or bronze shimmer. ▶ watch 41:30
2. Spray the ink onto both sides of the embossing folder from a distance to avoid over-saturating. ▶ watch 41:45
3. Place cardstock into the embossing folder and press firmly to transfer the misted colour. ▶ watch 42:00
4. Remove the cardstock and allow the spray ink to dry completely. ▶ watch 42:30
5. Optional: Layer additional ink colours or pigment ink for deeper, more complex effects. ▶ watch 43:00

Tips from the show

• Spray from a distance to create a light, even mist rather than heavy saturation.
