Use the watercolour paints with pony hair brushes, which can hold a lot of water, or standard synthetic hair brushes. They are typically used on watercolour paper produced specifically for the purpose, but can also be used on other types of paper or surfaces such as a watercolour canvas, wood, some types of plastic or parchment.

Watercolour is a medium where colour pigment dissolves in water and is transferred onto the watercolour paper. It's ideal for combining with coloured pencils, watercolour pencils or liquid watercolour paints in mixed media projects.
