A project from our live show CATCH UP with Toni for TECHNIQUE TUESDAY in the HTCN studio broadcast 19th Oct 21 · 10/19/2021
Use a decorative wood panel die to create a dimensional card with a rise and fall effect. Layer the die-cut wood panels at alternating heights to create visual interest, then add a stamped sentiment in gold embossing. This technique transforms a simple background into a sophisticated card with depth and texture.
Take the Creative Panels die and position it over your inked background artwork.
Run the die and cardstock through a die-cutting machine to cut out the wood panel design.
Carefully remove the die and separate the cut pieces, which will form a jigsaw-like pattern.
Paper piece the die-cut sections back together like a jigsaw puzzle, reassembling the wood panel design on your background.
Arrange the reassembled panels to create a rise and fall effect: position the first panel down, the second up, and continue alternating.
Stamp the sentiment 'The Future is Bright' from the Make Memories stamp set onto the end of one of the wood panels using a clear ink pad.
Stamp the sentiment a second time to ensure full detail capture in the wood texture.
Heat set the stamped sentiment with a heat gun to activate the gold embossing powder and create a bright, shiny finish.
Mount the completed design onto a black folding note card base.
Add oyster sequins or sparkles around and on top of the artwork to add final embellishment and dimension.
