A project from our live show CATCH UP with Toni for ANYTHING GOES WEDNESDAY in the HTCN studio broadcast 20th Oct 21 · 10/20/2021
Build a sophisticated card using layered cardstock with a white letterpress sentiment die-cut, creating contrast against black and gold backgrounds. The design features coordinating peony elements and sequin embellishments.
Cut a white letterpress sentiment die from white cardstock.
Cut a black backing layer for the white sentiment using the same die.
Layer the white die-cut on top of the black die-cut to create contrast.
Trim the layered sentiment pieces to size, ensuring they match the width of your card base.
Position the layered sentiment on your card base, allowing the coloured cardstock to protrude at the top for visual interest.
Secure the sentiment layers in place with low-tack glue tape or adhesive.
Adhere a striped patterned paper strip to the card base as a background layer.
Position the second layered sentiment piece, overlapping it with the first for a staggered effect.
Apply foam pads to the back of the layered sentiment to create dimension.
Add coral sequins to the design, positioning them so they protrude from the artwork for visual impact.
