A project from our live show CATCH UP with Toni for a THURSDAY LAUNCH in the HTCN studio broadcast 18th Nov 21 · 11/18/2021
Create a beautiful watercolour-effect floral card using the two-part lamination stamp system. Stamp a light silhouette first, then paint in vibrant colours to create a realistic watercolour look, before adding the detailed outline layer for a professional finished piece.
Prepare a piece of watercolour card and position it centrally on your work surface.
Ink the solid portion of the stamp with a very light colour ink pad, tapping gently all over to create a faint silhouette guide.
Stamp the light silhouette onto your watercolour card to create an outline guide for painting.
Mix orange and pink watercolour on your palette and paint in the flower shapes following the light silhouette underneath.
Add darker shades of green to paint in the leaves and stems, following the silhouette guide.
While the watercolour is still wet, add splatter details using your brush with orange and pink paint for added texture.
Dry the painted card completely using a heat gun.
Dust the dried card with an anti-static bag to prepare it for the outline stamp.
Ink the outline portion of the stamp with black ink and stamp it carefully on top of your painted design.
Add white splatter details around the design using a brush for extra artistic effect.
Sign your finished artwork with your initials or name.
Mount your finished card into an inexpensive frame with backing and mount for display.
Share your make with the Stamps By Me community - and keep this guide for next time.
