A project from our live show CATCH UP with Toni & Emma for A FRIDAY LAUNCH in the HTCN studio broadcast 14th Jan 22 · 01/14/2022
Create a textured background using crackle paste applied through a mask, then layer it with stencilled designs. The thick paste creates visible cracks when dry, which can be enhanced with pigment inks for a striking mixed-media effect.
Prepare your page and select a mask from the stencil bundle.
Apply crackle texture paste generously across the entire page using a palette knife or spreader, making it nice and thick.
Allow the crackle paste to dry completely so the cracks become visible.
Once dry, use pigment ink to colour the crackled surface, allowing the ink to settle into the cracks for definition.
Position your stencil over the dried, inked surface and apply additional pigment ink through the stencil to create layered patterns.
Remove the stencil carefully to reveal the combined effect of the crackle texture and stencilled design.
Share your make with the Stamps By Me community - and keep this guide for next time.
