A project from our live show Join Toni for last chance Pretty Penny sale broadcast Tuesday 1st Feb · 02/01/2022
Create a stunning card featuring a large butterfly frame die with multiple butterflies. The butterflies can be left flat, paper pieced in different colours, or have their wings raised for a 3D effect, making it perfect for spring-themed cards.
Place your card stock on the die cutting machine plate and position the butterfly frame die on top.
Run the die through your machine, listening for the normal cranking and cracking sounds.
If the die hasn't cut through completely, lightly spray the card stock with water from a spray bottle to hydrate the fibres.
Reposition the die on the dampened card stock, ensuring it clicks back into place, and run it through the machine again.
Carefully remove the die and peel away the card stock to reveal all the cut butterfly pieces.
Option 1: Leave the butterflies in place and glue only the bodies down, then gently fold up the wings for a raised effect.
Option 2: Pop out all the butterflies as individual pieces and paper piece them back in using different coloured card stocks.
Mount the finished frame onto your card base, which works beautifully on a 5x7 card.
