Ombre Blended Background with Easy Blend Sprays

Create a smooth colour gradient using three easy blend spray colours, blending them together on cardstock to transition from one colour to another. This technique produces a soft, professional-looking ombre effect perfect for backgrounds.

Step by step

1. Take a piece of white cardstock as your base. ▶ watch 34:30
2. Spray the first colour (orange) onto the top section of your card. ▶ watch 34:45
3. Spray the second colour (red) below the orange, allowing the colours to meet and blend slightly. ▶ watch 35:00
4. Use a blending brush to drag the orange colour down over the red to create a smooth transition. ▶ watch 35:15
5. Spray the third colour (purple) at the bottom of the card. ▶ watch 35:30
6. Use the blending brush to drag the red colour down into the purple to blend the join. ▶ watch 35:45

Tips from the show

• The easy blend sprays blend beautifully together on cardstock, similar to oxide inks.
• Using a blending brush helps create smooth transitions between colours and hide any visible joins.
• You can add sparkle or additional effects by spraying the golden shimmer mist over the blended background.
