A project from our live show STUDIO 3 - Industry News from Toni Darroch LIVE - broadcast 24th March 22 · 03/24/2022
Create a beautiful card featuring layered pansy flowers with a faux embossed background that mimics the look of an embossing folder without needing one. The card combines dimensional flowers with a textured background for an elegant, professional finish.
Die cut pansy leaves from white card stock using the layered pansies die set.
To create the faux embossed background, use the same coloured card stock as your card base and die cut leaf elements onto it.
Glue the white die cut leaves flat onto the matching coloured card base to create dimension.
Continue filling the background by gluing additional die cut leaf elements across the card, mixing up the placement to avoid repetition.
Trim away the excess from the edges of the background using scissors to create a neat card shape.
Assemble the layered pansy flowers by starting with the largest petal layer and gluing it down flat.
Add the second petal layer, positioning it so the petals align with the outer edge of the first layer.
Use a dober or sponge to add a touch of colour to the petal lines for subtle shading and dimension.
Glue the smaller petal layer on top, again aligning the edges, and add colour to the lines.
Glue the centre piece of the flower flat to complete the pansy.
Glue the banner die cut onto the card background.
Position and glue the assembled pansy flowers and leaves around the banner on the card.
Add sparkle pen details to the card for extra shine and to blend the ink slightly.
