Step by step

  1. Cut a piece of top-folding card and reduce its size, then prepare a separate piece of white card for the design. ▶ watch 29:45
  2. Place the white card into your stamping block and position it to stamp the floral image across two sections. ▶ watch 30:00
  3. Stamp the bouquet image using black ink, capturing it across both the left and right sections of your card. ▶ watch 30:30
  4. Heat set the stamped image with your heat gun. ▶ watch 31:45
  5. Using grey oil pencils, colour the entire left panel of the design to create a grayscale sketch effect. ▶ watch 32:30
  6. On the right panel, apply bright watercolour washes directly onto the stamped design—orange on the large flower, pink on another, and yellow-green on smaller blooms. ▶ watch 34:00
  7. While the watercolour is still wet, enhance the petals and leaves with darker oil pencil shades, following the lines of the stamp. ▶ watch 35:45
  8. Add a blue watercolour halo around the right panel design, then soften the edges with clean water. ▶ watch 38:00
  9. Once dry, outline the design with a blue oil pencil to create a closer, more detailed halo effect. ▶ watch 39:15
  10. Mount the painted card onto black cardstock to stabilise it and prevent buckling. ▶ watch 44:00
  11. Glue the mounted design onto your top-folding card base. ▶ watch 45:00
  12. Add a washi tape sentiment strip across the card to complete the design. ▶ watch 50:15
