A project from our live show CREATE AND CRAFT EXCLUSIVE - Join Toni LIVE for her latest launch FLOWERS FOR YOU - Broadcast 31st March 22 · 03/31/2022
Create an abstract watercolour background using the Sunray die as a stencil, then layer it onto a card with a die-cut border. The technique produces a soft, artistic effect with the die creating both a stencilled background and a painted focal point.
Place a piece of watercolour card on your work surface.
Position the Sunray die on top of the watercolour card as a stencil.
Mix three shades of blue watercolour paint on your palette.
Using a paintbrush, apply the blue watercolours across the die and the card beneath it, creating a two-toned effect.
Remove the die carefully and allow the paint to dry slightly.
Add splats or additional ink details to the background using a brush for extra texture.
Dry the background completely with a heat gun.
Glue the painted background onto a piece of black card as a base layer.
Die-cut the Sunray border from white card and ink it with a dark ink pad using a brush technique.
Adhere the inked die-cut border to the top of the card.
