A striking card featuring a stamped lady's face with a vibrant colourwashed background in multiple ink colours, finished with a sentiment stamp and splatter details. The design creates a modern, artistic poster-like effect with the lady's face left white to stand out against the coloured backdrop.

Step by step

  1. Remove the largest lady stamp from the carrier sheet and secure it onto an acrylic block. ▶ watch 20:30
  2. Ink up the stamp with black ink and stamp the lady's image onto white cardstock at the top of the card. ▶ watch 20:45
  3. Select a sentiment stamp such as 'Stay Strong' from the same carrier sheet and ink it with black ink. ▶ watch 21:45
  4. Stamp the sentiment in the corner of the card, allowing it to overlap slightly with the lady's image. ▶ watch 22:30
  5. Spray a red ink pad with water and use a brush to paint colour around the lady's face, avoiding her facial features. ▶ watch 23:15
  6. Add purple ink colour to other areas of the card using the same spray and brush technique. ▶ watch 24:00
  7. Apply blue ink colour to additional sections, working around the card in random areas. ▶ watch 24:30
  8. Add green ink colour to further areas of the background. ▶ watch 25:00
  9. Return to purple ink and add more colour to the remaining spaces around the card. ▶ watch 25:30
  10. Use a brush to add ink splats across the coloured areas to tie the design together and hide any blocky paint marks. ▶ watch 25:45
  11. Paint a lipstick detail on the lady's face with a brush to add definition and make the image pop. ▶ watch 26:15
  12. Heat set the stamped and coloured cardstock to dry it completely. ▶ watch 26:45
  13. Mount the finished artwork onto a black cardstock border to make the coloured image stand out. ▶ watch 27:30
  14. Adhere the mounted image to the centre of a white card blank. ▶ watch 29:00
