Heat Embossed Diagonal Split Card

A project from our live show CREATE AND CRAFT - ONE DAY SPECIAL - Join Toni for an awesome show 1 and products - Broadcast 15th May 22 · 05/15/2022 · watch it from 24:15

Create an elegant two-tone card by heat embossing the same image onto contrasting cardstock pieces, then cutting diagonally and reassembling them for a striking split design. The tone-on-tone embossing creates subtle, sophisticated dimension.

Step by step

  1. Cut two pieces of cardstock in different colours (pink and white) to exactly the same size. ▶ watch 24:30
  2. Use an anti-static bag to prepare the first card, then ink the floral stamp with clear sticky ink pad and stamp onto the white cardstock. ▶ watch 24:45
  3. Sprinkle rose gold embossing powder over the stamped image, covering it completely. ▶ watch 25:00
  4. Heat set the embossing powder with a heat gun, holding it at a distance and moving it quickly to avoid warping the card. ▶ watch 25:15
  5. Repeat the stamping, embossing powder application, and heat setting process on the pink cardstock in exactly the same position. ▶ watch 25:30
  6. Using a guillotine trimmer, cut both embossed cards diagonally from corner to corner. ▶ watch 28:45
  7. Reassemble the pieces by placing the white triangle onto the pink triangle, matching the embossed design perfectly so the image lines up. ▶ watch 29:00
  8. Mount the split card onto a black card base to make the embossed design pop. ▶ watch 29:15
  9. Stamp a sentiment down the side of the card using black ink and the Eureka stamping platform to keep it perfectly aligned. ▶ watch 31:30
