Landscape Card with Layered Lamination Stamps

Create a scenic landscape card using the lamination technique with buildings and flowers. Layer coloured inks with water spray to create a realistic painted effect, then add the detailed outline stamp to complete the composition.

Step by step

1. Prepare watercolour card stock as your base. ▶ watch 43:00
2. Stamp the solid coloured portion of the landscape lamination stamp onto your card. ▶ watch 43:30
3. Select a colour palette of complementary inks (teals, blues, purples work well together). ▶ watch 44:00
4. Apply the first colour to the upper portion of the landscape where the sky or background should be. ▶ watch 44:30
5. Apply a second colour to create depth and variation in the landscape. ▶ watch 45:00
6. Spray the inked stamp lightly with water to allow the colours to bleed and blend naturally. ▶ watch 45:30
7. Press the stamp onto the watercolour card and hold briefly to transfer the blended colours. ▶ watch 46:00
8. Lift the stamp to reveal the watercolour effect. ▶ watch 46:30
9. Clean the stamp and allow the card to dry slightly. ▶ watch 47:00
10. Stamp the detailed outline portion in black ink over the coloured area to define the landscape features. ▶ watch 47:30
11. You can stamp the outline multiple times if needed to achieve solid black lines on the textured watercolour card. ▶ watch 48:00
12. Add a sentiment stamp if desired, or leave as a landscape-only design. ▶ watch 48:30

Tips from the show

• Choose colours from the same colour family to avoid creating muddy tones when they blend.
• You don't have to spray with water if you prefer clean, sterile lines instead of a watercolour bleed effect.
• The texture of watercolour card means you may need to stamp the outline portion multiple times to get solid black coverage.
