Beautiful Birthday Washi Tape Embellishment Card

A layered card featuring die-cut embellishments from washi tape, combined with coordinating cardstock and a decorative sentiment panel. The design creates a vintage, botanical look with dimension and sparkle accents.

Step by step

1. Peel the backing off your washi tape and stick it to white cardstock. ▶ watch 10:45
2. Cut the washi tape piece in half to match the two-piece die format. ▶ watch 13:15
3. Run the first washi tape piece through your A5 die-cutting machine with the coordinating die. ▶ watch 13:30
4. Pop out all the embellishments from the die-cut sheet carefully. ▶ watch 14:00
5. Run the second washi tape piece through the die-cutting machine in the same way. ▶ watch 14:30
6. Pop out the embellishments from the second sheet and store them in a container for quick access. ▶ watch 15:00
7. Cut one of the plate dies with the word 'live' and run it through your die-cutting machine. ▶ watch 17:45
8. Layer the plate die panel onto a coordinating scalloped mat layer using adhesive pads. ▶ watch 19:30
9. Assemble your card base using pink folding note card, pink mat layer, and white panel. ▶ watch 23:45
10. Arrange your washi tape embellishments on the card, trimming pieces as needed to avoid overwhelming the design. ▶ watch 25:00
11. Adhere the embellishments flat or with adhesive pads for dimension, positioning the wreath and foliage elements. ▶ watch 27:30
12. Add sparkle pen highlights to selected flowers on the washi tape elements, allowing time to dry. ▶ watch 31:30

Tips from the show

• You can mix washi tape embellishments from different collections as they all interchange.
• Don't overwhelm the design; you don't need to use every embellishment.
• The washi tape is semi-porous and will accept water and colour, so you can add additional embellishments with sparkle pens or other media.
