Spring Blooms Layered Stencil Card with Selective Colouring

Create a delicate spring flower card by selectively using layered stencils to build a white flower with subtle pink accents. Demonstrate how you can skip stencil layers and control colour intensity for a sophisticated look.

Step by step

1. Stamp the spring blooms design in black ink onto white cardstock to establish the flower outline. ▶ watch 34:30
2. Position stencil two (skipping stencil one) on your stamped image, roughly aligning it with the flower. ▶ watch 35:00
3. Take a very small amount of pink ink on your brush and gently stencil through to create a subtle highlight. ▶ watch 35:30
4. Reposition stencil two if needed and add slightly more pink to build the colour intensity gradually. ▶ watch 36:15
5. Position stencil three and apply green ink around the flower petals to suggest foliage. ▶ watch 36:45
6. Die-cut the flower design using the complementary outline die to create a clean edge. ▶ watch 37:30
7. Add embellishments such as sparkle or glitter if desired to enhance the finished card. ▶ watch 38:00

Tips from the show

• You can skip stencil layers entirely—there are no rules; use only the stencils you want.
• Take very little ink on your brush for subtle, delicate colour effects on white flowers.
• Stencils work beautifully on their own without the stamp, die or embossing folder if you prefer.
