Step by step

  1. Punch small squares from various patterned papers using a square punch, selecting different patterns from your paper pad. ▶ watch 6:30
  2. Ink the edges of each punched square using a small piece of cut-and-dry foam and archival ink to define the squares and create a finished look. ▶ watch 7:45
  3. Arrange and glue the inked squares onto craft card stock in a frame pattern, starting from the top corner and working outward to create a border. ▶ watch 9:00
  4. Trim the card front to size using a paper trimmer, keeping the patchwork frame intact. ▶ watch 12:15
  5. Cut a square aperture in the centre of the patchwork frame using a craft knife and metal ruler, or alternatively use a square die. ▶ watch 13:00
  6. Ink the inside edges of the frame aperture with archival ink to finish the window edge. ▶ watch 14:30
  7. Adhere acetate to the back of the frame using wet glue around the edges to create a stable window. ▶ watch 15:30
  8. Apply foam tape around the frame to lift it above the card base and create dimension. ▶ watch 16:15
  9. Stencil the fall foliage stencil directly onto the card base using distress oxide inks in autumn colours, focusing on the area visible through the acetate window. ▶ watch 17:15
  10. Stamp the autumn wreath from the Falling for Autumn stamp set onto watercolour card using VersiFine ink in dark brown. ▶ watch 22:15
  11. Colour the stamped wreath using distress oxide inks and a water brush, blending autumn colours like oranges and yellows across the leaves. ▶ watch 24:00
  12. Cut out the coloured wreath and adhere it to foam pads on the acetate window to create the focal point. ▶ watch 27:00
  13. White heat emboss autumn-themed sentiments from the stamp set onto dark brown card stock and adhere them to complete the card. ▶ watch 29:15
