Step by step

  1. Apply blue ink pad to white cardstock and add water with a brush to create a watercolour wash effect. ▶ watch 7:15

  3. Use indigo ink pad sparingly and add water to create additional colour variation in the background. ▶ watch 8:45
  4. Allow the inked background to dry completely. ▶ watch 9:30
  5. Tear up pieces of white cardstock to create snow drift shapes of varying sizes. ▶ watch 11:45

  10. Heat set the embossing powder with a heat gun to create a sparkly snow effect. ▶ watch 16:00
  11. Stamp the festive house image onto grey cardstock using black or grey ink, or paint grey cardstock with diluted grey ink if you don't have grey card. ▶ watch 19:15
  12. Colour the house details (door, windows, roof) using pencils or oil pastels to add dimension. ▶ watch 24:00
  13. Add shadows under the pillars and on the snow to create depth and make the image pop. ▶ watch 24:15
  14. Cut away the pillars from the coloured house image if desired to simplify fussy cutting. ▶ watch 26:00
  15. Glue torn white snow drift pieces to the left edge of the card, leaving the right edge to trim later. ▶ watch 26:15
  16. Trim the excess snow drift pieces from the right edge of the card using scissors. ▶ watch 28:00
