What You'll Need:

Funky Fossil A5 Spring Showers Stamp and die Set

Funky Fossil Love Blossoms 6x6 paper pad

Pretty Things Inside Midnight Hybrid Ink

Large circle die

Watercolour markers or watercolours

Stamps by Me Eureka

White cardstock and watercolour cardstock

How To Guide - Step 1

Place the large floral welly boots image in your Eureka on a piece of white watercolour cardstock.  I am using watercolour cardstock because I will be colouring with watercolour.  If planning to use alcohol markers, pencils etc use the appropriate card for that product.

Lift the image up on the lid of the Eureka and ink it well with Midnight Hybrid ink.  Press it down on to the cardstock to stamp.  Repeat this step if desired to get a darker line.

How To Guide - Step 2

Choose the colours to colour your image with.  I used the Love Blossoms paper pad that comes in this bundle as the reference when selecting my palette.

I have used Ecoline watercolour markers but you could use watercolour paints, alcohol markers, pencils etc.

When using the watercolour markers, I scribble colour on to my glass mat and pick it up with a waterbrush to apply it to the image.  You can add the colour directly and move it with water if you prefer.  Adding the colour from the glass mat enables me to build it up more slowly and get better shading.

Enjoy colouring in the image!

How To Guide - Step 3

Place the matching die around the coloured image and tape down to secure it before running through your die cutting machine.

The point at which you die cut the image is a matter of personal choice - you could die cut the shape and stamp on to it, or stamp the shape and die cut it before you colour it.  There is no right or wrong way to do it.

How To Guide - Step 4

To create the shaped card, I have used a large circle die over a white card blank.  When positioning the die, ensure that there is a small overlap at the fold of the card so that the card blank retains a hinge.

Run this through your die cutting machine.  If cutting through a card blank this may require a few passes through the machine to go through the double layer of card.

The die that I have used for this card is 13cm in diameter.

Cut a full circle from a piece of patterned paper from the Love Blossoms paper pad and adhere it to the front of the circle card.

How To Guide - Step 5

To finish this card, simply cut off the bottom third of the circle card blank to create a flat base.

Adhere the die cut welly boots to the card front with foam tape for extra dimension if desired.

Stamp the sentiment from the Spring Showers stamp set on to a piece of white cardstock with Midnight Hybrid ink and trim out.

Position the sentiment so that it is over the main focal point and extends beyond the edge of the card.
