Create a serene Japanese-inspired card featuring a delicate bridge and pine tree silhouette against an ombré blue background. The inked background creates a peaceful, elegant effect that's quick to make but looks professionally finished.

Paso a paso

1. Ink the light blue colour from the edge of your card stock, building the colour gradually towards the centre, focusing on the top half only. ▶ watch 8:15
2. Swap to the darker blue ink and add more intensity to the corners, building the colour gradually to create depth. ▶ watch 8:30
3. Set the inked panel aside and place your die-cut die on plain black card stock towards the top. ▶ watch 9:45
4. Run the black card through your A5 die-cutting machine to cut out the bridge and tree silhouette. ▶ watch 10:30
5. Carefully tease out the delicate cut areas around the tree and bridge details. ▶ watch 11:30
6. Apply glue to the back of the black silhouette panel and position it on top of your inked blue background. ▶ watch 13:00
7. Lift the silhouette slightly to create a shadow effect for added dimension. ▶ watch 13:15
8. Mount the layered panel onto a white card base to make the colours pop. ▶ watch 14:00
9. Stamp a sentiment in the corner using black ink. ▶ watch 15:00
10. Trim the card to size and finish. ▶ watch 15:15

Consejos del programa

• You can use the die to create different effects by using it as an edge die or stencil as well as for cutting.
• Lifting the silhouette slightly creates a shadow effect that adds definition to the card.
• You could use vellum with a tea light behind it for a glowing effect.
