Create a stunning decorative card featuring a majestic stag surrounded by pine trees in natural woodland tones. This project demonstrates multiple distressing and inking techniques on wooden crate embellishments, including brown ink, water activation, gold finger wax, and white ink to achieve a beautifully aged, rustic finish. The finished piece showcases how versatile stamping and mixed media techniques can transform simple components into eye-catching dimensional artwork.

Paso a paso

1. 

   Swipe a brown ink pad directly across the embossed wooden crate pieces to create a rustic, distressed appearance. Work the ink across the textured surface to highlight the wood grain effect.

   Flick water onto the stamped crate image to activate the ink. Dab gently with a tissue to lift some of the ink and create a weathered, distressed effect.

   Apply grey and blue Distress Ink pads to a second wooden crate piece to create a seashore or driftwood effect. Work the ink across the wood grain to build up the weathered appearance.

   Activate the grey and blue inks by flicking water onto the stamped basket. Dab gently with tissue to blend the colours together, creating a distressed, weathered effect.

   Tap gold finger wax onto a piece of scrap card to remove excess. Swipe your finger across the kraft card crate to apply a gold sheen to the surface.

   Using your gold wax-coated finger, rub across the embossed details of the black wooden crate to highlight the texture. The gold will catch on the raised areas, creating a distressed metallic effect.

   Dip a white ink pad directly onto the black wooden crate to create a bold, contrasting finish. Press the ink pad onto the surface in a dabbing motion to achieve the desired distressed effect.

   Swipe a white ink pad across the embossed details of the fourth crate to highlight the texture and create a clean, elegant finish.
