Un progetto dalla nostra diretta RIGUARDA Simon nel Monday Madness dagli studi di How To Craft Network 20 set 21 · 09/20/2021
A striking background panel made from colourful card scraps arranged in a brick or random pattern with gaps between each piece, then enhanced with gold embossing powder in the gaps to create a tiled, grout-like effect. Perfect for using up leftover card and creating a masculine, feminine or children's card depending on colour choice.
Cut card scraps into 1-inch strips, each 3 inches long, using a paper trimmer for consistency.
Prepare a double-sided adhesive sheet pre-stuck to a piece of card, then peel away the backing to reveal the sticky surface.
Arrange the first card strip onto the sticky surface, leaving a deliberate gap between it and the edge.
Continue adding strips in varying colours and tones, rotating the direction and leaving consistent gaps between each piece to create a brick or random pattern.
Fill any remaining gaps with smaller leftover scraps, adjusting the pattern as you go.
Trim all the protruding edges level with the card base using the back of the card as a guide.
Sprinkle gold embossing powder generously over the entire panel, making sure it fills all the gaps between the strips.
Tap off the excess powder and heat emboss, keeping the heat gun slightly higher than normal to avoid the tape wrinkling.
Stamp a sentiment onto vellum using black ink and emboss with black embossing powder.
Tear the vellum into a band shape with an uneven edge, tearing downwards slowly for control.
Secure the vellum band across the panel using double-sided tape, positioning the sentiment in the centre.
Layer the embossed panel onto a gold glitter card border, then mount onto a black card base.
Add small black gems around the card as a finishing embellishment.
